A lot of products from China are always low priced and that’s the main reason why we consider Chinese products, we always want good value for money don’t we? I think the main reason why most people consider buying from Banggood is the low prices, Banggood’s low prices make you wonder about their safety.
Banggood is a bit like Aliexpress, but it doesn’t sell its products, it’s more like the no-longer-active Gearbest, which has built up a rich supply chain, sourcing and placing products on its shelves in a unified manner, with a large number of electronics from China.
Low prices often come with scams, is it legal and safe to buy from Banggood? Will I fall into a scam? In this Banggood review, you will find out the pros and cons of Banggood and a guide on how to shop on Banggood.
About Banggood
Banggood is one of the largest export-oriented online shops in China for end customers worldwide, and with tens of millions of visitors per month Banggood is among the top 5,000 websites worldwide.
Banggood’s parent company was founded in 2006 and launched its first website in 2009, they have grown consistently and rapidly and were once a large company with over 5,000 employees
But with the global consumer crunch, Banggood seems to be experiencing a similar decline to Gearbest, their traffic has been declining over the past year.
Banggood is very similar to Gearbest in its business approach, with centralized sourcing, a single shop, and a single customer service support. Unlike shops like Aliexpress and DHgate, you don’t have direct access to the sellers.
But this can be very positive, meaning that the product offerings have been carefully screened within Banggood and you don’t have to deal with the varying quality of customer service from different sellers.
In terms of product offerings, Banggood covers over 100,000 products, but there is a clear difference from other shops in that they are more focused on Chinese electronics and they are equipped with warehouses overseas in China.
If you are debating where to buy some great value-for-money smartphones, projectors, and RC toys, Banggood would be a good choice, these products usually arrive at their overseas warehouse at some point and you can get them at very competitive prices, and with efficient logistics services.
Is Banggood legal? Can I get scammed for shopping?
Banggood is definitely a legitimate online shop, you can think of it as a dealer that takes care of the whole deal and delivery and makes a living from the difference.
In my browsing, there are no imposters like DHgate in the shop, but if you are still wondering how it can sell at such low prices, I will explain it to you below.
I’d say you’re not always safe shopping on Banggood, I wouldn’t say it’s a scam, but you run the risk of getting into a bad situation.
I have purchased Xiaomi products from Banggood twice and they were delivered on time and without quality issues, so I am not persuaded to post a negative review. But based on Trustpilot’s one-star review stats, I guess what I have to tell you is that you run the risk of late delivery scams as well as poor warranty service.
The above description is perhaps too subjective, but I think the objective reason it is truly legitimate and relatively safe is that Banggood supports PayPal payments.
This is a good sign that PayPal has a very liberal policy toward its customers, so you will undoubtedly have a better chance of recovering your money in the event of a lawsuit. All in all, Banggood also has a good 3.7 rating on Trustpilot.
Why is Banggood so cheap?
Banggood will source its products directly from the manufacturer, meaning that Banggood has one and only one seller, with no other middlemen adding to the retail price.
This is the same as all online shop sellers in China, enjoying the advantage of low manufacturing costs and taxes in China. What really causes Banggood to have a price advantage over other platforms is that they will negotiate a lower cost price with the manufacturer with their large intake, but in reality, the price difference is not as significant as one might think.
Another crucial reason is that at certain times of the year, they kick off a real “party time” and making good use of the deals they unleash during the sales period can get you very competitive prices.
I think this is a regular way for Banggood to give back to their customers or to boost sales, and the price advantage is particularly noticeable when they have a big carnival sale.

During non-sale times (don’t be fooled by Chinese sellers, their websites are usually full of fake sale information and decoration), you need to take a little time to search for suitable Banggood offers in the form of two types of discounts – flash deals and coupons.
To be honest, I’m not sure of their true purpose in creating two discounts, I subjectively feel that coupons are a good way to increase the loyalty of users using their Banggood account as some Coupons are issued directly to your account and you can find them in your account dashboard.
You can find the most up-to-date discount codes on CouponGhetto’s Banggood page. We have joined Banggood’s Affiliate Program and we browse their portals as well as receive the latest relevant offer Newsletters, which ensures that I am regularly updated with the most current and valid Coupons, which will save you a lot of work.
My advice before shopping at Banggood
Overall, Banggood is a legitimate online shopping site, and most of the time you can expect good value for money on it.
However, to avoid you getting into a bad shopping experience, or to ensure that you can successfully receive a refund in extreme cases, I recommend that you take the following steps before you buy.
- Read the product descriptions, and reviews carefully.
I can see some of the bad and flawed opinions on the major review and deals sites and you must read them patiently to get an accurate expectation of the product;
I recommend you buy a 4.5-star product with 100 reviews or more, especially if you need to spend hundreds of dollars on the product, this will allow you to avoid inferior brands.
- Choose the warehouse closest to you and the products that are in stock.
Doing so will ensure two things: firstly, that Banggood is confident enough to stock the product in its overseas warehouse as it is selling well;
And secondly, you can get the product in a shorter time frame – we always want it to get to us quicker, don’t we?
Don’t trust any of the signs they put on the Arrive Soon logo, usually, this will cause you a long wait, but of course, products with preorder discounts need to be treated differently.
- Reduce unnecessary costs.
I’ve never paid duty on a Banggood product, I can find a logo in their details that includes duty, and it’s a good thing they do a flat rate for customs clearance in transit.
But you still have to consider removing some unnecessary charges on the order summary page. Sometimes it automatically selects insurance for you - Try to buy through Paypal and use discounts.
Again, PayPal will get your protection in your favor! And discounts you can find here, we have collected some sitewide coupons and exclusive coupons. - Try to keep your expectations low, otherwise, Amazon will be a better fit for you.
While Banggood has a full returns policy and customer support, don’t forget that Banggood is essentially a distributor, and when your complaint or return arrives in the supply chain, it needs to be filtered through Banggood first which can be inefficient.
According to numerous online reviews, unlucky customers will experience partial refunds, yes Banggood will not take care of the whole thing out of their pocket and their so-called warranty requires you to send the product back to China, you can imagine how much this will cost.
Hey people!!!!!
Good mood and good luck to everyone!!!!!
